History

Radiators have been in the Spence family for over 60 years since Wesley “Lee” Spence II first began as a salesman for a leading radiator manufacturer in Texas in the 1950′s. In the mid 1970′s, Lee and his wife, Odessa, moved to the west coast for the warmer climate of Orange County, California. There they established Stanton Radiator and started out as an automotive radiator repair shop. However, due to the saturated market of automotive radiator repair shops in Southern California and lack of quality products and service to industrial operators, Stanton Radiator soon branched out to the trucking, heavy equipment and oil field industry servicing Caterpillar heavy equipment, industrial generators and heat exchangers.

After growing up in the radiator business, Lee’s three sons soon ventured out into successful careers of their own in the cooling system industry. Wes, Bruce and Mark worked together in Albuquerque, New Mexico in the late 70′s and early 80′s when Bruce founded Commercial Radiator. Commercial Radiator specialized in rebuilding and reengineering cooling system packages for heavy equipment machinery in the Southwest desert mining regions. The venture

was extremely successful and was later purchased by a UK company in the late 1980′s.

Superior Cooling was formed soon after and has prospered as the industry leader in servicing diesel engine radiators for heavy equipment machinery operating in severe environments. Superior is a true family owned and operated business with deep values and a passion to serve our customers well. Cooling Systems Technologies was formed in Las Vegas, Nevada and specializes in the design, engineering and production of cooling system modules for diesel engine radiators operating in extreme environments.
